Trafford
Funds have been earmarked in the TIF package for a 6.3km extension of the Metrolink line to Trafford Park and the Trafford Centre. This package will deliver links to new routes to Manchester Airport, East Didsbury, Ashton-under-Lyne and Oldham and Rochdale town centres. A new park and ride facility will be created close to Sale Water Park with space for 300 cars.
A public transport plan for Trafford Park has been prepared as part of the Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) proposals for Greater Manchester. For further information please click the link below.
Also, on November 5th, GMPTE wrote an open letter to businesses in Trafford Park and the Trafford Centre with further details of the temporary congestion charge discount for employees in the Park, plus further details about the plans for the proposed Metrolink extension and a map of the proposed tram route.
