Stockport
In Stockport the TIF package will see the existing town centre bus station transformed into a modern interchange. There will be new bus routes, a dramatic increase in the quality and reliability of the buses in use and an improved pedestrian link between the bus station and the train station. There will also be space in the new interchange for a post TIF extension to Metrolink.
Stockport town centre will also benefit from a significant investment in measures to improve accessibility to public transport.
